The Story
For twelve years, Michael led all aspects of the top junior high-performance training program in New Jersey as Senior Director of High-Performance Tennis at Garden State Tennis Academy.
He managed the coaching staff, player development pathways, curriculum design, scheduling, and program operations — coaching nationally ranked junior players and collegiate student-athletes along the way.
Over his career he has developed more than 50 state, national, and international boys’ and girls’ junior champions, while driving enrollment growth through innovative programming and consistent results.
Among them is Ronit Karki, a Wimbledon boys’ junior finalist from New Jersey, who trained with Michael from ages 11 to 15. In a USTA Eastern Q&A, Karki credited Michael with turning his forehand into a major weapon — and with forging his return game over hundreds of lessons spent trying to handle Michael’s six-foot-six serve.
